Daily Readings – There is a difference!

Day 1783: Babysitting one of the grandkids this weekend – always good!

Scripture: 1) But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. 2) Do not be afraid when one becomes rich; when the glory of his house is increased. For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lives he blesses himself (for men will praise you when you do well for yourself). He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.  Psalm 49:15-19

Thoughts/questions: On one side we have God overcoming the grave, while the other side was rich and had an abundant of stuff, but they take nothing with them after the grave. One is received by Almighty God, while the other will descend and never see light.

Those who bless themselves do have their earthly reward from men, while eternal rewards await the other side. We must maintain our heavenly and eternal focus as sometimes we envy the rich and seek stuff over seeking after God and serving others.

Seek God’s redemption and the day WILL come when He shall receive us!

Suggested prayer: Lord God, may the richest I seek be the ones that last for eternity . . .
