Daily Readings – My sentiments exactly!

Day 1792: God as judge? I hope so – read on.

Scripture: Break their teeth in their mouth, O God! Break out the fangs of the young lions, O LordLet them flow away as waters which run continually; when he bends his bow, let his arrows be as if cut in pieces. Let them be like a snail which melts away as it goes; like a stillborn child of a woman, that they may not see the sun.   So that men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely He is God who judges in the earth.”  Psalm 58:6-8, 11

Thoughts/questions: David’s thoughts towards his enemies are direct, and they remind me of my unloving thoughts towards those who are maiming, killing, raping, destroying, and whatevering Christ followers throughout the world.

I am more than ready for God to judge these ‘people’ and give them what they deserve – now please! I regularly pray for the persecuted, but echo David’s thoughts far more than I probably should towards those who persecute them. It may not be right, but my prayers for them are today’s verses..

Suggested prayer: Lord, please rescue the persecuted and bring judgment on their tormentors . . .
