Daily Readings – Get Out of the Way!

Day 1804: Officiating a wedding in NoCal today – it should be a great day!

Scripture: O God, You know my foolishness; and my sins are not hidden from You. Let not those who wait for You, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed because of me; let not those who seek You be confounded because of me, O God of Israel. Psalm 69:5, 6

Thoughts/questions: God has chosen to partner with us to impact the lives of others! As a Christ follower, the goal is to make a relationship with Jesus attractive, but the Psalmist feared being a bad example to fellow believers and also to those seeking after God. Because it was his prayer, it was probably also his lifestyle.

How about you? Do you confound the thinking of those desirous of spiritual things. Do they question Christianity not because of Jesus, but because of you? Are fellow believers ashamed to have others know you claim to follow Christ?

Yes, the Psalmist admits we aren’t perfect, but may our imperfect lives not get in the way of God’s plan for others.

Suggested prayer: Lord GOD of hosts, help my legacy be one in which I led people towards You . . .
