Daily Readings – God’s heart!

Day 1807: May God’s mercy and peace fill your day!

Scripture: For He will deliver the needy when he cries out, and the poor, who has no helper. He will have pity on the poor and needy, and the souls of the needy He will save. He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence; and precious will their blood be in His sight.   Psalm 72:12-14

Thoughts/questions: When God made the choice to give humanity free will (what we would have demanded if given the opportunity), primary reasons NOT to extend free will are included in these verses.

His decision must have been extremely difficult as He knew there would be cries of the needy, helpless poor, and the shedding of innocent blood. And humanity has proven Him right, sadly, over and over again.

Knowing this would exist on an earth filled with free moral agents, God did the very best thing He could – focus on their ETERNAL SOUL! Their souls will be delivered, saved and redeemed! Not just for 80 years, but FOREVER. God loves the poor, needy, and innocent – do we treat them with the same esteem and care?

Suggested prayer: Lord God, may my heart be like Your heart . . .
