Daily Readings – Adversaries!

Day 1847: Take time this Sunday to re-commit your life to the One who gives you rest!

Scripture: Oh give us help against the adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we will do valiantly, and it is He who shall tread down our adversaries. Psalm 108:12, 13

Thoughts/questions: Our walk with Jesus has plenty of adversaries. Many of our opponents are similar, but some are unique to just us. Unfortunately, these opponents spiritually defeat us too many times.

Jesus told us that His yoke is ‘easy’ so how does that fit. As we meet the adversaries of life while ‘plowing’ through with Him, what is so easy about plowing rough terrain filled with rocks and roots almost every step of the way?

A ‘yoke’ combines two with one being the lead. These verses tell us that overcoming adversaries if WE lead is impossible – for deliverance by man is in vain. However, when yoked with Jesus – HE will do valiantly and tread down our adversaries!

Make sure Jesus leads – we are Christ followers, not Christ leaders! He can and will do the heavy work!

Suggested prayer: Lord Jesus, I fully surrender to You. Lead me . . .
