Daily Readings – What Can Man Do?

Day 1858: If you receive this via email, I apologize for WordPress not being able to email regularly. Daily each post is at

Scripture: The Lord is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?    This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.   Psalm 118:6 and 24

Thoughts/questions: In answer to the Psalmist question, our fellow man can do a lot to us. Just ask those who have been martyred, persecuted, ridiculed, lost jobs and the list goes on. So just what could the Psalmist mean?

If we were primarily physical beings, reality would fly in the face of the Psalmist’ question. However if we are primarily spiritual beings trapped in an earth suit, can man do ‘anything’ to our spirits? NO! Our bodies (which are headed towards extinction and dust anyway) can be impacted by man, but the Lord will ALWAYS take care of us spiritually!

Are you rejoicing and being glad today – the day the Lord has made???  No matter what the circumstances, we can always rejoice and be glad in the Lord!

Suggested prayer: Dear Jesus, when I share in Your sufferings, may I rejoice . . .
