Daily Readings – Near and Far!

Day 1862: Monday, Monday!!! Gotta love it!

Scripture: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn and I will confirm it, that I will keep Your righteous ordinances.  Psalm 119:105, 106

Thoughts/questions: God’s word is likened to a lamp and a light. In camping terms, the lamp could be equated to a flashlight, and the light to a lantern.

When camping, it can get very dark. When using a flashlight, you can’t see much, but each step has light brought to it. A lantern gives much more visibility! Neither lights the way for everyone, but they do take care of the one who holds them!

God’s word gives us similar guidance. Sometimes we merely have a lamp/flashlight and can only see one step ahead. At other times, His word is like the light/lantern, and we can see farther ahead! And when we take in His word, it speaks directly to us!

Daily stay in His word, and it will bring light to guide your way. Sometimes only one step at a time, but the light will always be there!!!

Suggested prayer: Lord God, thank You for always bringing Your light into my future . . .
