Daily Readings – Glad?

Day 1865: Only 3 weeks until Thanksgiving in the U.S.

Scripture: I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”  Psalm 122:1

Thoughts/questions: Our current generation does not seem to ascribe to this verse. Church attendance in the U.S. is declining according to most polling.

The Bible encourages us to ‘not forsake assembling together’ and the Church is the bride of Christ, so we should live in agreement with this verse. However polls show that young men/women have no real interest in the church.

But, you know, I lived in the 60’s, and I think polls during those times would have shown young people’s view of the church to have been pretty negative then as well. Then a long came a guy named Chuck Smith and the Jesus movement began – revival swept the U.S. and abroad!

So if not too many are glad to go into the house of the Lord, we need to pray for revival and another Chuck Smith type to lead the way! Pray hard!

Suggested prayer: Dear Lord, bring revival to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Please answer our prayers . . .
