Daily Readings – Pray for Israel!

Day 1866: Another Friday for TGIF!  Thank God I’m Forgiven!

Scripture: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.” Psalm 122:6, 7

Thoughts/questions: It certainly is hard to conceive of a tiny nation with few natural resources that have worldwide impact yet having worldwide implications, but there sits little Israel smack in the middle of the daily news.

Peace is certainly not a word which characterizes any day in Jerusalem: however, we are to pray for just that – peace for Jerusalem. For some reason Jerusalem has God’s heart, and God wants it to have ours as well.

We may not understand the why’s of all this, but the ‘what’ is clear – we are told to pray for peace in that tiny little country and specifically for the city of Jerusalem – we must pray!

Suggested prayer: Almighty God, may Jerusalem finally find peace. May her enemies be no longer. May she finally be at rest . . .
