Daily Readings – What’s in a Name!

Day 1868: Enjoy the best way to start a new week – A restful, blessed Sunday!

Scripture:. Our help is in the name of the LordWho made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:8

Thoughts/questions: If someone said, “The criminal goes by the name of Larry” – I surely wouldn’t want people to think that was me, so I’d want a qualifier, and we use last names to do that.

However, Lord doesn’t have a last name and many ascribe Lordship to someone or some thing. Far too often drugs become Lord of lost lives, and we see people who have given sports, financial gain, power, family, and such the position of Lord in their lives.

The Psalmist uses this qualifier to identify their Lord – the One Who made heaven and earth! Eventually He will be Lord of ALL, but now seeks to be Lord of you! If you are a follower of Christ, at one point you surely had elevated Him to be your Lord. How about today? Has He retained His rightful status or ???

Let’s made sure that He truly is LORD!!!!

Suggested prayer: Father God, I commit my life to You and You alone – You are my Lord . . .
