Daily Readings – Unless the Lord!

Day 1871: May God be blessed by your choices today . . .

Scripture: Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain. Psalm 127:1, 2

Thoughts/questions: Vain – to be unsuccessful or have a lack of substance. What a tragedy it would be to have lived a life ‘in vain.’

Yet so often we depend on self to become successful and to give our life value. But the Psalmist tells us to stop doing that! Aa I am developing the Grand Parenting seminar and trying to expand that ministry, the temptation is to push and try to make it happen.

But I don’t want to labor in vain. Unless the Lord grows the ministry or is behind ANYTHING we may do, we are not going to be successful in the way He would want; therefore, it is in vain. We must always give Him the reins! We are just along for the ride!

God’s road sign doesn’t say stop or go – it reads ‘yield’ – may we always yield to His leading!

Suggested prayer: Lord God, my future is in Your hands . . .
