Daily Readings – An Open Search Warrant!

Day 1888: Finishing Psalm 139!

Scripture: Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there is any wicked way in me. Lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23, 24

Thoughts/questions: Are we as open as the Psalmist? Do we want God to have a 24/7/365 search warrant and look thru every aspect of our being? Do we actually want Him to try us and check our anxiety level during trials? Are we really wanting to ask Him to check us regularly for any aspect of wickedness?

Whether or not we want it, God does this anyway! May that knowledge alone be enough for us to keep a pure heart; avoid worry and trust; and flee any form of wickedness!

Our trials certainly reveal our level of trust in God by our resulting level of worry and anxiety. This is a test; merely a test – this is what we hear when emergency services are tested to see if they are working properly. Well, trials test our faith and our anxiety reveals whether or not our faith is working properly! How’s yours?

Suggested prayer: Lord, may these verses be my daily prayer . . .
