Words in Red – What a Savior!

Day 1931:  For any new God2me readers, we are currently doing ‘words in red’ – Jesus’ spoken words in the gospel of Mark!  Blessings on your day!!!

Context:  A blind beggar, Bartimaeus, cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”  People told him to be quiet, but he cried out all the more, and then Jesus healed him!

Scripture:  “Tell him to come here!”  “What do you want Me to do for you?”  And the blind man said to Him, “Rabbi, I want to regain my sight!”  And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.”  Mark 10:49a, 31b, 52b

Thoughts/questions:  In this brief encounter, Jesus really demonstrated His relationship with us!  First, He wants us to come to Him!  Regardless of who we are, what we’ve done, or what others may think, Jesus seeks to be close to us.  Secondly, He is available to us!  He really means it when He asks what we want Him to do for us!!!  He truly wants to help us!!!

Thirdly, He has a ‘way’ for us, and He tells us to ‘go’!  After we encounter Him, we have a job to do!  We are His workmanship, He has a plan for us, both are for our best, and His desire is that we live that life abundantly!!!  Lastly, after telling Jesus what we want Him to do for us, we are ‘WELL’!  Even though He did not grant James and John their request when He recently asked what He could do for them, their needs were met!  They needed to become servants, and Jesus directed them there!  However He chooses to meet our needs, Jesus makes us ‘well’!!!

That is our Savior and what a wonderful Savior He is!!!

Suggested Prayer:  Jesus, thank You for even desiring a relationship with me, and thank You for making me well . . .
