Words in Red – He Needs Me!

Day 1932:  May God bless your day with glimpses of His greatness!

Context:  Jesus approached Jerusalem with His disciples and sent two of them into Bethphage and Bethany.

Scripture:  Jesus said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and as soon as you enter it, you will find a colt there that has never been ridden.  Untie it and bring it here.  If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will return it soon.’”  Mark 11:2, 3

Thoughts/questions:  Wow, wouldn’t it be nice if Jesus’ instructions to us personally were this explicit!  Easy to follow, easy to evaluate – simply easy – but not by ‘faith’!  But when we get to know Him intimately, then His will becomes clear, and we act on faith – our belief that His plan is best for us.  Our faith is not based on looking Him in the eyes and hearing His specific words – but when we seek, we will find!!!

I love Jesus’ statement, “The Lord has need of it!”  Jesus, our Lord, has needs, and He has chosen to use us to fulfill those needs.  What a privilege!!!  To be used to meet the needs of the living God of the universe!!!  God needs me!!!  But remember, He needed a spokesman for His people, the Jews, and chose Moses to fulfill His will; however, Moses resisted, so God picked Aaron.

Yes, the Lord has need of us!  And has chosen to use us!  The question remains – will we respond like ‘Moses’ or like ‘Aaron’?  May we all humbly say, “Lord, I am your servant, use me!

Suggested Prayer:  Lord God Almighty, thank You for the privilege of serving You.  Please use me every day . . .
