Words in Red – Our Great God!

Day 1934: Still waiting for grandbaby #4! Due 3/14 and now it’s 3/25.

Context:  Jesus and His disciples were walking and saw the fig tree from yesterday’s devotional – it was now withered.

Scripture:   “Have faith in God!  I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go and throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.  Listen to Me, you can pray for anything, and if you believe, it will be yours.  But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you may have an issue with, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins.  But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins.   Mark 11:22b-26

Thoughts/questions:  After the disciples saw Jesus in action throwing people out of the temple and now a withered fig tree – wow!  Their teacher was introducing a new side of Himself!

The disciples were probably back to looking at Jesus as a conqueror.  Forgotten were His words of going to Jerusalem and dying.  Knowing this, Jesus immediately brought their focus back to what was really important – not to place their faith in man, but to place it squarely on God!

We could get caught up in believing enough to move mountains, and we could end up placing our trust in our own belief.  No, we are to be humble and our faith has to be in God – A God who wants us to forgive, because He forgives; A God who, through us, has the power to cast mountains into the sea; A God who wants true believers; A God who wants us to pray, so that our prayers line up with what He wants for us!

This is our God!  What an awesome God He is!!!  Let us all place our complete faith in Him!

Suggested Prayer:  Father God, You are truly awesome!!!  I believe, help my unbelief . . .
