Words in Red – We have hope!

Day 1948:  Show God’s love to everyone you meet today!!!

Context:  Jesus continues regarding end times.

Scripture:  “How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women or nursing mothers!  But pray that this will not happen in winter, because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now.  And it will never happen again.  In fact, unless the Lord shortens that time of calamity, the entire human race would be destroyed.  But for the sake of His chosen ones, He has shortened those days.  Mark 13:17-20

Thoughts/questions:  The extreme dreadfulness of those days is expanded upon in these verses.  Jesus shows His global knowledge of His creation when He states “not happen in winter”.  Had He said to pray that it happen in summer, that would not be possible for everyone, as one hemisphere’s summer is the others winter.  Globally, if it doesn’t happen in winter, means the sun is at the equator and there is no winter anywhere on the earth.  Yes, for God so loved the whole ‘world’, and He is well aware of His entire creation!!!

Distress, calamity, destroy – not words of hope, yet we have hope!  End times are coming and they are talking points as people seem to have a growing fear of the future.  According to a Gallup poll, only around 30% of people believe the future will be safer, or better economically.  What a great time to share a life of hope to a world filled with fear!  Our hope is based on faith, as the more faith I have in someone, the more hope I have that they will accomplish whatever they are supposed to do.  We have the ONE in which to place our complete faith and that builds our hope!  Strength for today and hope for tomorrow!  Share your HOPE!  People need and want it!!!

Suggested Prayer:  Living God of the universe, You are a mighty, awesome God.  I place my hope in You . . .
