Words in Red – Tasks and Purposes!

Day 1951: May your soul bless the Lord this Sunday!!!

Context:  Jesus closes His teaching regarding end times.

Scripture:  However, no one knows that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven or the Son, but only the Father.  Be alert!  Stay on guard!  For you do not know when that time will come.  It is like someone going away on a journey who leaves their house and assigns tasks to their servants and commands the doorkeeper to keep watch.  So, watch carefully for you do not know when the owner will return – at evening, midnight, when the rooster crows, or in the morning!  When he comes suddenly, don’t let him find you sleeping.  What I am saying to you, I say to everyone:  Watch for his coming!”    Mark 13:32-37

Thoughts/questions:  What an exciting way to live!  We, as servants of the Most High God, have been assigned tasks while on earth and are to always watch for His coming!  As Christ followers, WE HAVE A PURPOSE FOR EACH DAY AND A BRIGHT HOPE FOR TOMORROW!!!

As we commit ourselves to live for Him daily, Creator God gives us opportunities to be His instrument in the lives of others!  Although sometimes God’s ‘to do’ list for us is to rest (and to always rest in Him), He also has a daily purpose for us!  So when we ask, ‘what am I going to do today?’ our first response should be to God – show me what You have for me to do and I will do it!!!  What an honor to be in the service of Almighty God – don’t take that honor lightly!

Hope for tomorrow!  As we watch for His coming, it puts the cares and demands of this world in perspective.  We can easily follow the adage – don’t sweat the small stuff!  In light of our eternal hope, EVERYTHING else, excluding God’s assigned tasks, IS the ‘small stuff’!

Looking forward to eternity and having purpose for each day – What a way to live!

Suggested Prayer:  Lord Jesus, thank You for giving meaning to my days, now and forever . . .
