Words in Red – Go!

Day 1962:  This is the very LAST day for words in red regarding Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Mark.  I trust His words changed your life!!!

Context:  Jesus and His disciples just before He returns to heaven after His resurrection.

Scripture: Then He told them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  These signs will accompany those who believe:  They will cast out demons in my name; they will speak in new languages; they will be able to handle poisonous snakes with safety; when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them; and they will be able to place their hands on sick people and heal them.”  Mark 16:15-18

Thoughts/questions:  What would Jesus say to you regarding your faith if He arrived at a Sunday dinner?  Would He confront your lack of faith or your stubborn refusal to believe or trust Him, or would He commend your growing faith and belief in Him and His works?  A faith test – growing, static, or shrinking?

Two things about these signs:  1) We can’t be presumptuous and act arrogantly saying that Jesus promised we would exhibit these signs, so we can do it all.  God works through humble servants who rely on Him completely and give Him all the credit when any of His signs accompany our lives.  2) Christ followers collectively HAVE done all of the signs Jesus shared.  His words do not mean that we individually will do them all, but it does mean that they will all be done – and they have.

More important than signs is ‘going’ and bringing Jesus to all we meet!  Probably our biggest sign will be our willingness to simply speak!  Do not let fear of man be a sign of your belief!!!  Let Him flow through your life and through your words!

Suggested prayer:  Jesus, may I speak boldly regarding You . . .
