Fruit of the Spirit — Love is . . .

Day 1968:  This will be the last day on the Fruit of the Spirit – love.

Scripture/thoughts/questions:  This fruit of love is listed first in the nine Fruit of the Spirit and probably for a good reason.  Today, I will be asking you to do something I’ve done many times and it helps every time.  I Corinthians 13 describes the love we are supposed to show.  Let’s test how well you are demonstrating love by substituting your name before each phrase as you slowly read the following.

___________ is patient; ___________ is kind; __________ is never jealous; __________ is not rude or arrogant; __________ does not act inappropriately; __________  does not demand his/her own way;

__________ is not irritable or touchy; __________ hardly even notices when others do him/her wrong; _________ never rejoices over injustice, but rejoices when truth wins out; __________ believes, endures, and hopes all good things about those he/she loves; __________ never fails!

How’d you do? Remember, don’t try to love on your own! Seek God’s love to flow through you.

Suggested prayer:  Read the phrases again after saying – Lord, help me so that every day I am patient; I am kind . . .
