James 5:10, 11 — Merciful and Full of Compassion?

Day 2013: Thank You, Lord for Your continued mercy . . .

Scripture: The Lord’s prophets are good examples of patience in suffering.  Those who persevered are considered blessed.  Job’s perseverance resulted in his seeing the outcome of the Lord’s dealings.  Through it all, he experienced that the Lord is merciful and full of compassion.

Our suffering and God’s mercy and compassion at first don’t seem to belong in the same thought. Initially, it will certainly not appear that way, but when we persevere like Job, we too will eventually understand the the outcome of the Lord’s dealings. and we will KNOW His mercy and compassion – Persevere!

Suggested prayer: Lord, when things don’t go my way I get impatient and whine and complain. Help me to persevere with an attitude of trust . . .
