Daily Readings — Sabbath Rest!

Day 2020: May your Saturday be one of a Sabbath rest!

Scripture: So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. Hebrews 4:9

Thoughts/questions: The end of our week is Saturday with Sunday being the first day of the week. We get so used to Monday starting the work week, we seem to forget our week begins on Sunday!

Saturday serves to start the weekend for most people and a wide range of things are done on this ‘Sabbath’ day. Even though we may do a lot of work or activities on Saturday, most consider it a day of change from the daily grind and a day that brings rest!

God promises us a Sabbath rest! A life of Saturdays like we retired folks enjoy! Have you found that life of peace and rest? Within everything, there still remains a Sabbath rest! It’s available to us, and today may be the time for you to cease the daily struggle and rest. External actions may not change, but we can (and should) be at REST!

Enjoy your Saturday! And start experiencing His Sabbath rest!

Suggested prayer: Lord Almighty, help me to cease striving and rest in You . . .
