Psalm 103 — Never Satisfied?

Day 2147: Continuing with just who our amazing God is using Psalm 103! Today’s verse is in bold.

Scripture:  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion. Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eaglePsalm 103:2,3,4

Thoughts/questions: The renewal of youth is certainly promoted today via exercise, injections, ointments, creams, etc. and phrases like ‘today’s 60 is yesterday’s 40′ abound. A 72 page magazine advertising a single product I just received today headlines,’The End of Aging – aging is reversible!’

To live forever is one of our great God’s many good things as He created us to do just that! However, to live forever and remain youthful on this fallen planet is NOT one of them! Even as our bodies fail, our spirits can be renewed every morning! Our focus is not to be on our physical health, but on our renewed spirits!

God grants those who love Him many good things – not material things or things we covet, but the things that are for our ultimate good! When we recognize that and define good the way He does, then we can trust Him completely to take care of us. Then our relationship with Hm becomes intimate, and we become satisfied with (His) good things!

Suggested prayer: Father God, may I always find my satisfaction in You and You alone . . .
