Psalm 103 — Now This Is Greatness!

Day 2150: Continuing with just who our amazing God is using Psalm 103! Today’s verse is in bold.

Scripture:  The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He revealed His character to Moses and His deeds to the people of Israel. The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. Psalm 103:6-8

Thoughts/questions: This verse is simply loaded with characteristics of our great God! What would we do without a God like this?

Compassionate: God knows that we are all like sheep who have gone astray; Jesus wept; God has compassion on us. Not anger or retribution or punishment, but compassion. Thank You Jesus!

Gracious: Synonyms of gracious – forgiving, lenient, forbearing, humane, tenderhearted, sympathetic, generous, magnanimous, benign, benevolent – ‘nuf said!

Slow to anger: Many of us have experienced a hothead. Not fun and the more power the easily angered person had over us, the worse it would become. Thankfully, God is slow to anger as our repetitive sin and lack of trust is surely very aggravating to Him!

Abounding in lovingkindness: Not only does He extend His lovingkindness to us, He abounds with it – again, thankfully so as otherwise He would quickly run out of it in my case.

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness!!! Amen and amen!

Suggested prayer: Sovereign Lord, You are the one one only God. An awesome and amazing Lord . . .
