Psalm 103 — The End is in Sight!

Day 2151: Continuing with just who our amazing God is using Psalm 103! Today’s verse is in bold.

Scripture:  He revealed His character to Moses and His deeds to the people of Israel. The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. Psalm 103:7-9

Thoughts/questions: Peace with God – not yet! The best is yet to come!

Parents with young children love them and want the best for them, but at that time, there is not lasting peace in the home. Conflicts arise, children misbehave, anger happens, correction is often necessary, discipline is enforced – yes, there is an overarching love in the home, but total calm and peace does not continuously prevail.

With the above, substitute ‘God’ for parents and us for the children and things are pretty much the same. We do not reach God’s standard, but He continues to strive with us seeking our maturation in Him as we journey to become more like Christ. I’m sure our childlike behavior in relationship with Him frustrates Him just a bit.

When our children end their life at home, many of those relational issues end and difficulties subside, but never completely. But with God, there IS an end!!!

Someday our striving with God WILL be over! A perfect relationship! We rebellious children WILL be perfected! God doesn’t ‘kick’ us out of His house, but instead, welcomes us to live with Him eternally! What a great God!!!

Suggested prayer: My Great God, heaven awaits! Thank You for that gift . . .
