Daily Readings — Seize the Opportunity!

Day 2159: Tonight’s moon is supposed to be awesome! Be sure to check it out and praise its Creator!

Scripture: Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel, so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else. Philippians 1:12, 13

Thoughts/questions: Yesterday, I was speaking to friends who referenced a global financial crisis warning/prophecy that according to the Jewish calendar is supposed to take place this coming September 13. They asked my opinion regarding this, and my thoughts echoed Paul.

Crises will come! The end will not come without them, so when they come, what are we to do? Let’s say September 13’s date is true or at some other time there is a world wide financial crisis. Then, will we agree with Paul that our circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel.

I trust we will! When a crisis comes, people are often much more receptive to the things of God. So, without sticking our head in the sand but using common sense to prepare the best we can, when the crisis comes, our focus should be on the eternal. On what’s really important. On showing love at a personal sacrifice.

When the time comes, let us all seize the opportunity presented to share the hope, peace, and assurance knowing Jesus brings regardless of our present circumstances!!!

Suggested prayer: Lord, help me to be spiritually prepared so that when needed, I will stand strong for You . . .
