Daily Readings — Fear to Faith!

Day 2181: Worshipping in a converted bar today! Today starts a four part series regarding turning our fears into faith!

Scripture: Fear not, for I am with you; Do not be anxious about anything; Do not fear or be in dread of them; For God did not give us a spirit of fear; Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go; But perfect love casts out fear; Be strong; fear not; The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Various scriptures

Thoughts/questions: “Do not be afraid!” – This was always said when God presented Himself to man in some fashion and it is appropriate to us. We are to live in faith, not in fear.

Although fear itself is sometimes good, a life of fear is not. One of the top four fears of young people (and it remains a potential fear throughout our lives) is the fear of the future and that incorporates the fear of failure in future endeavors.

So why should the unknown future not make us fearful? After all, what about all the ‘bad’ things that have happened to people we know and our turn will soon come, much less the topsy turvy political, warring world we live in?

So if faith is what we are to turn to regarding our future, why? Tomorrow’s post will address just that!

Suggested Prayer: Almighty God, I want to live by faith. Help me . . .
