Daily Readings — Fear of Our Future!

Day 2182: Monday in Montana for us!

Scripture: Fear not, for I am with you; Do not be anxious about anything; Do not fear or be in dread of them; For God did not give us a spirit of fear; Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go; But perfect love casts out fear; Be strong; fear not; The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Various scriptures

Thoughts/questions: So if faith is to replace our fear of the future, how does that happen? Let’s look at the example of what others faced.

Abraham – His future looked bleak, as he was to sacrifice Isaac effectively stopping God’s promise of him being a father of many nations. His response – obeying God’s Plan A, as he took Isaac up the mountain stating in faith “we will return” and they did.

Gideon – His future meant he was to lead a mere 300 men against an innumerable foe. His response – trusting while filled with fear – yet he moved ahead in faith!

David – His future included Goliath. A mismatch! His response – declaring God’s promise, “for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you (Goliath) into our hands.”

Turning the fear of the future into faith – Obey God by believing His promises to be true; Trust that He can execute His plan regardless of circumstances; Declare His promises. Don’t be shy or afraid; but speak out!

Suggested Prayer: Almighty God, I place my future into Your hands . . .

  1. Larry, God spoke through you today! Thank You for your words of hope. Cherie
