I Peter 4:7-9 — The End of All Things!

Day 2234:  TGIF – Forever forgiven!!!

Scripture:  The end of all things is near; therefore, I should demonstrate sound judgment and self-control so that I can pray!  Above all, I am to love others deeply, for love covers a multitude of sins. I should always be hospitable with others, and I should do that without complaining.  I Peter 4:7-9

Thoughts/questions:  The end of all things is near – for the U.S. or the entire world? Either is very possible, so PRAY; have SELF-CONTROL and don’t just go off on tangents at every challenging world and local event; and demonstrate SOUND judgment – if it truly is the end, bad things will have to happen, so . . .

Jesus’ love erased our sins, whereas our love can only ‘cover’ sins; but covering can be a very good thing.  Like a coat of paint or a well-placed rug, when we extend the love described in I Corinthians 13 to ourselves (Yes, we need to love ourselves) and others, the sin is still there, but it is no longer visible.  This love forgives and changes our perspective on the person we grace with God’s love!!!  Love deeply and observe how things that used to stand out as massive issues seem to disappear!

Loving deeply also means when it is not convenient and being hospitable is often difficult.  Yet we are asked to do this as what we have is NOT our own, so we should be able to share God’s blessings to us with others. Get your heart right, don’t complain, and be hospitable!!!

Suggested prayer:  Lord, help me to pray, to love deeply, and to be hospitable . . .
