Proverbs — Proverbs 2:1-6

Day 2262 Proverbs 2 continues to bring sage advice and at an appropriate time in today’s world.

Proverbs:  My path to gaining wisdom and good sense should be – taking in God’s word; doing what He commands me to do; always listening for more words of wisdom; managing my emotions with knowledge; and actively desiring insight and discernment.  I must seek that path as if I were searching for silver or hidden treasure.  Then, I will understand how to reverence the Lord, and I will find the knowledge of the living God.  The Lord Himself will give me wisdom, and His every word will increase my knowledge and understanding.  Proverbs 2:1-6

Thoughts/questions: A self help book in one sentence (worth rereading) – My path to gaining wisdom and good sense should be – taking in God’s word; doing what He commands me to do; always listening for more words of wisdom; managing my emotions with knowledge; and actively desiring insight and discernment.

It’s been said, if it’s easy, it ain’t worth much. Proverbs acknowledges this by its next sentence – I must seek that path as if I were searching for silver or hidden treasure.

Knowledge then action! What knowledge Proverbs shares is probably familiar to most of us, so the knowledge is not the issue. i.e. taking in God’s word – we know this, but . . .  Our action plan often is suspect. Reread the first paragraph and then seek that path as if you were searching for silver or hidden treasure!

Suggested prayer: Father God, help my actions to be those which follow the path of gaining wisdom and good sense . . .
