Proverbs — Proverbs 6:12-19

Day 2279:  Proverbs is full of wise advice. Apply wisdom and understanding!

Scripture:  I must not behave like a wicked and worthless person.  If I act like this – lying; signaling secretly with winks; motioning deceptively with my fingers; devising evil plans in my heart continually; stirring up trouble – then calamity will come upon me suddenly, and I will be broken without remedy.  There are six things the Lord hates, no seven that are detestable to Him:  a proud look; a lying tongue; hands that shed innocent blood; a heart that devises wicked schemes; feet that run rapidly to evil; a false witness who utters lies; and a person who spreads discord among brothers. Proverbs 6:12-19

Thoughts/questions:   . . . broken without remedy.  Sadly, this appeared to have happened to someone we loved very much.  A young man who had not been able to overcome his battle with the ‘devil’s drug’, crystal meth, exhibited the deceptive behaviors described in these verses.  After extended rehab and even major surgery, he continued his behaviors, which lead to calamity.

Doctors successfully completed a number of new surgical techniques trying to repair his heart.  However, none of them had the desired result as he continued to go downhill and never left the hospital.  To our sorrow, he had lived his life to the point that he was broken without remedy.  God is not mocked!  What someone sows, they will reap.  Personally be careful, and also warn loved ones who might be experimenting with this lifestyle.

Suggested prayer:  Father God, help me to help those You have put in my network of people to NEVER become broken without remedy . . .
