Proverbs — Proverbs 14:7-12

Day 2308: Sunday blessings!!!

Scripture:  I am to stay away from fools, as there is no knowledge there.  I am acting wisely when I think and plan ahead, but fools deceive themselves.  I would be foolish to not take guilt seriously, as godly people acknowledge sin and make reconciliation.  Every person’s heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy.  The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the godly will flourish. My way seems like the right way, but it ends in the way of death.  Proverbs 14:7-12

Thoughts/questions:  According to this section of Proverbs, we are to take guilt seriously, as we then will acknowledge the truth and try to fix/reconcile the situation! Sadly, today’s church doesn’t seem to want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or experience guilt. So how is the Holy Spirit to convict of sin if we don’t have anything to be guilty about? How are we to reconcile something which we don’t recognize as a sin?

Take your guilt seriously. We sin! We are guilty! That is the truth! AND reconciliation with God and our fellow humans is available! God is a God of reconciliation, so we need not fear short term guilt in regards to Him. When we confess our sin, God forgives and instant reconciliation is ours! Guilt is gone!

Humans are a bit harder, but when we recognize our responsibility in any relational issue and seek forgiveness, reconciliation usually occurs! Don’t run from guilt. Acknowledge it and be reconciled!!!

Suggested prayer:  Lord, thank You for being a God of reconciliation and that You know my heart completely and You love me just the same . . .
