Easter — The Full Extent of His Love!

Day 2318:  Maundy Thursday . . .  A most important day!

Scripture:   It was just before the Passover celebration, and Jesus knew that His hour had come and that He would depart out of this world and go to the Father.  Having loved His own who were in the world, He now showed them the full extent of His love.  John 13:1

Thoughts/questions:  Jesus knew that this Thursday would be the last ‘normal’ day He would spend with His closest followers. He chose to spend that precious day by showing them AND US the full extent of His love! How? By washing their feet and having one final meal with them, the Lord’s Supper!

By washing the disciples feet, He demonstrated that He was willing to do ‘whatever’ it took to prove that God comes down to our level and takes on the role of a servant.  Our relationship with Him must model the love Jesus showed through serving others with no hint of pride or position.

The Lord’s Supper represents that EVERYTHING of Him is given to us!  Through the fellowship of breaking bread together for the last time, Jesus gives us a further glimpse into God’s complete affection towards us at every possible level.

Our relationship with God is a fellowship based on love, humility, and service.  Let Jesus wash your feet this Maundy Thursday, and then seek to serve others.  Receive the completeness of the gift of Himself and then seek to share Him with others.

Can you accept ALL of this?  I trust your answer for today and every day is YES!

Suggested prayer:  Jesus, You love me more than I will ever be able to comprehend.  Help me to receive ALL of Your love . . .
