Proverbs — Proverbs 19:11-15

Day 2338Trust in the Lord with all of your heart!

Scripture: By using of discretion, I will be slow to get angry, and it is glorious to me to overlook faults in others! The wrath of a ruler is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.  Having a foolish son brings destruction to his father, and the contentions of a wife are similar to a constant dripping.  As an earthly parent, I can give an inheritance of wealth and a house, but having a wise wife is from the Lord. My laziness is like being in a deep sleep, and if my soul is idle, I will go hungry.  Proverbs 19:11-15

Thoughts/questions:  Using discretion or tact requires thinking, which keeps our emotions/anger momentarily in check.  It will also make our life and relationships smoother because we now have a chance to overlook faults in others!  I Cor. 13 calls it love – by loving we never even notice when others do us wrong.  Less anger, improved life and relationships – yes, that truly will be glorious to me!  (and those around me!)  Commit to taking the time to use discretion!

Wise wife (or husband!) – they say that the choice of a marriage partner is the most important decisions we make regarding our eventual happiness.  A wise partner is a ‘gift’ from the Lord because He has been changing the heart of our partner (making them wise) and those changed lives now are capable of using His wisdom; using discretion; overlooking faults; and not being contentious!  If married, open the ‘gift’ He has given you every day and make your marriage one that is glorious to both of you!!!

Suggested prayer:  Lord, help me to use discretion with everyone and to make all of my relationships glorious . . .
