Proverbs — Proverbs 22:20-23

Day 2361: Look up! The heavens declare the glory of God!

Scripture: Excellent things have been written to me; sayings filled with counsel and knowledge, so that I may know with certainty the words of truth and be able to give sound answers to those who sent me.  I am not to exploit the poor just because they are poor, nor oppress the needy in court.  For the Lord will defend them and plead their cause, and will injure those who injure them. Proverbs 22:20-23

Thoughts/questions:  Know with certainty the words of truth!  So in regards to the following two contrasting views I recently was involved with, which are words of truth? 1) “What kind of an a’hole God would do something like that?” 2) A line in a worship song sung Sunday, “You are perfect in all of Your ways!” In #1, the response to a difficult situation certainly didn’t confirm Gods’ ways all being perfect to them, so ???

I HATE FREE WILL and I love having free will – again, which are words of truth? Probably both are. Giving us free will had to be the worst, or at least most difficult, decision God had to make. Accepting free will would have been an easy decision on humanity’s part, even though our free will often results in God being the a’hole God referred to earlier.

Because when God gave us free will, He also gave Himself the ability to say, “I can’t” and the result of this is that His ways (perfect) are NOT we think His ways should be. For example, a bad thing is going to happen to a good person. God sees this, but His perfect ways have been given a lesser role than free will; therefore, He can’t step in and violate our freedom. His perfect way (giving us freedom) makes Him appear as if He is an a’hole of a God to some.

Words of truth – God’s role in our imperfect world is passively aggressive! Steps in at times and merely observes at other times. Deep thoughts; trust Him; His perfect ways will be revealed in due time . . .

Suggested prayer:  Almighty God, Your words are words of truth; help me with my unbelief  . . .
