Proverbs — Proverbs 25:1-7a

Day 2374: Today, some of you need to make the decision to fully trust the Almighty!

Scripture:  These are more proverbs of Solomon, which were copied by the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah.  It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.  As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.  Remove the dross from silver, and the sterling will be ready for the silversmith; remove the wicked from the presence of the king, and his throne will be established through righteousness.  I am not to exalt myself in the king’s presence, nor should I push for a place among the great.  It is far better for them to say to me, “Come up here,” than for them to humiliate me in front of others.  Proverbs 25:1- 7a

Thoughts/questions:  Solomon references kings, but here we will consider kings to be people like us.  Without God intentionally concealing a matter, we would all believe.  The evidence would be overwhelming!  Instead, He has given us enough evidence to believe, and enough not to believe.  Those in opposition to Jesus and the Gospel have a basis for their belief, and we must acknowledge that when we discuss our beliefs!

It may be hard, but remove the wicked from your presence!  I’ve often used this illustration.  You are standing on a table and your ‘bad’ friend is lying on the ground.  You reach out and grasp hands as you try to pull them up to your level and they try to take you down to theirs.  Even if you are twice as strong and twice as big, who will win???  I think you get the point!!!!

Suggested Prayer:  Lord, You are so amazing, and some day I will get to know even more about You . . .
