One Another — In Humility!

Day 2235:  Today look UP!

Scripture:  I am to behave in a humble and gentle fashion, and patiently show tolerance for one another in love!  Ephesians 4:2    I should bear with one another and forgive whatever grievances I may have against one another.  I am to forgive as the Lord forgave me.   Colossians 3:13

Thoughts/questions:  Showing tolerance, forbearance, and patience toward fellow Christ followers can be a difficult and challenging task.  Sometimes we would rather ‘shoot our wounded’ brothers and sisters instead of treating them the way we are taught to do in these verses.

Humility helps, as knowing that ‘there but by the grace of God go I’ puts things in perspective.  Knowing God is patient with us helps, as if He treats us patiently, we should treat others the same.  Realizing that our walk with Christ is a process helps, as none of us has it completely altogether.  Remembering that some of us are still spiritual babies helps, as we must be more patient with new Christ followers.  These all help us become more patient – use them!

Forgive as the Lord forgave me – God desires to forgive us but doesn’t need to; we need to forgive others but often don’t desire to!  Many times following Jesus requires us to do the exact opposite of what we ‘feel’ like doing.  We may never forget, but it is in our own best interest to forgive!

Choose to be patient; choose to forgive!  The best way to live with one another!!!

Suggested prayer:  Jesus, it is often hard for me to forgive and be patient!  I definitely need Your help to accomplish both of these . . .
