The Lord is my . . . Life’s strength!

Day 2254: Do not neglect the gathering together of believers!

Scripture: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Thoughts/questions: Many of the Psalms have God being our strength, and in this verse we’ll look at the entire phrase – strength of my life!

It is obvious that we so often need extra strength, and we can’t do it all on our own. But it seems like we segment our lives and look for God’s strength in our own areas of weakness or when we lose control. It might be appropriate at those times for us to acknowledge that we just might be ‘using’ God as a crutch!

However, today’s verse refutes the idea of segmentation and states that God is solely responsible for our ENTIRE life! Our strengths, weaknesses, our everything!

May we start each day committing our entire lives to Him and humbly realizing that our life is not our own, and that we’ve been bought with a price! It is God who IS the strength of our lives, not we ourselves!

Suggested prayer: Lord God, help me to realize and acknowledge that my entire life in totally dependent on you . . .
