Psalms — Psalms 8 – How Majestic is Your Name!

Day 2547: This Sat/Sunday post celebrates the end of seven years of God2me, and the start of number 8!!! I’m 67 on Sunday and started God2me on my 60th birthday! Blessed!

Scripture:  Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth. which has displayed Your splendor above the heavens! From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength because of Your adversaries, to make the enemy and the revengeful cease. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; what is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?

Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet; all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field; the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea; and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! Psalms 8

Thoughts/questions: What is man and the son(s) of men (all of humanity) that God even has our existence in His radar, much less send His own Son to die for us? He has given us responsibility for the rest of His creation, but that does NOT make us worthy!

We’re not worthy; He is worthy; O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Suggested prayer: Sovereign God, help me to always find the majesty within You and Your creation . . .

  1. Blessings & Happy Birthday Larry!!! Whata significant commitment through these years. You’ve given a great deal of yourself and we your readers and friends count you as a treasure in our lives!!
