Psalms — Psalm 14 – We’re All the Same!

Day 2556: In Big Bear Lake soaking in God’s beauty!

Scripture: The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; there is no one who does good. The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

Do all the workers of wickedness not know, who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the Lord? They are in great dread, for God is with the righteous generation. You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted, but the Lord is his refuge.

Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores His captive people, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad. Psalm 14

Thoughts/questions: We are all in spiritual need. Whether the extreme of ‘there is no God’ to simply that ‘there is no one who does good.‘ In God’s economy it is clearly black and white; in or out; righteous or wicked. His perfection causes us ALL to fall short, even your friends who are really good – we all need a Savior.

Then can those who are ‘in’ be prideful and holier than thou? NO! Christ followers must not focus on ‘the fool’ words in this chapter, but our focus should be how we can regularly and purposefully share God love no matter what the level of goodness or wickedness exhibited by those around us.

Pray for opportunities to speak of His eternal love!

Scripture: Father God, I am not worthy of Your love. Thank You for Your continual grace and mercy . . .
