Psalms — Psalm 21 – The Role of a Ruler!

Day 2565: Excerpts from Psalm 21 on this Monday!

Scripture: Lord, in Your strength the king will be glad, and in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice! You have given him his heart’s desire, and You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.

His glory is great through Your salvation, splendor and majesty You place upon him. For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.

Though they intended evil against You and devised a plot, they will not succeed. For You will make them turn their back; You will aim with Your bowstrings at their faces. Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength; we will sing and praise Your power.  Excerpts from Psalm 21

Thoughts/questions: November 8 is the last date an election can be held in the U. S. and that is this year’s date – of all elections to be the last possible day . . .

The candidates in the U.S. election have it wrong according to the Psalmist. He lists various things GOD does with rulers, and then states what the ruler should do – trust in the Lord!

The speeches we hear are filled with what the candidate will do and what their party will bring to our nation, BUT there is little or no reference to the Almighty! Sadly, the U.S. has come a long way in this regard as politicians from both parties can’t seem to give credit to Whom credit is due! How can God bless this nation?

Stay above the fray! Know Who’s in control! Use this as an opportunity to share Whom your trust is in!!!

Suggested prayer: Almighty God, help us all to trust in You, not our rulers . . .
