Christmas — Christmas Peace?

Day 2604: Starting a Christmas theme for God2me!

Scripture:  I must not worry about anything; instead, I should pray about everything, presenting my requests to God with a thankful attitude! And the peace of God, which surpasses human understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus! Philippians 4:6, 7

Thoughts/questions: Peace during the Christmas season seems as hard to find as a Democrat and Republican in the U.S. being able to have a rational discussion! The season is so busy, so ‘family’, so filled with decisions, so focused on almost everything but having the gift promised by the angels, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Assuming God is still basically pleased with you, why is peace so elusive at the time when we celebrate peace being promised? Maybe it is because we don’t follow the very specific advice found in Philippians!

1) We are to replace worry with prayer. We tend to worry about everything when we are really supposed to pray about everything. 2) We are to ask! Continuously making all of our requests to God, and then 3) we are to have an attitude of gratitude during the process. Not thankful that we will get the answer we want, but thankful that God WILL give us the answer that will be for our eventual best!!!

May your Christmas season be filled with His peace! Pray, ask, be thankful! Let His peace fill your heart and mind!

Suggested prayer: Father God, I cast my cares upon You. I have many concerns during this time and You know them well. Thank You for taking care of each and every one of them . . .
