Christmas — Carols of Peace!

Day 2607: I’m thankful to live in such a time as this – how about you??? (Had some font issues I couldn’t fix – I’m sorry!)

Scripture: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

Thoughts/questions:  Jesus says He gifts us with peace and Christmas carols confirm just that. Here are a few lyrics from some favorite carols!

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear – ‘When peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendors fling, and the whole world give back the song which now the angels sing.’ Some day peace WILL be over all the earth, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer!

O Little Town of Bethlehem – ‘And praises sing to God the King, and peace to men on earth.’ When we praise Him, peace comes to us!!!

Silent Night – ‘Holy infant so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace. Sleep in heavenly peace.’ Seek heavenly peace, not the false peace the world tries to give!

Hark the Herald Angels Sing – ‘Hail the Heaven-born Prince of Peace; hail the Son of Righteousness!’ A mere man can’t offer the world peace, only One who is heaven-born!

O Holy Night – ‘Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love and His gospel is peace.’ Yes, a major part of the Good News of Christmas is peace – peace with God and peace with our fellow men!

May your Christmas be blessed with the peace Jesus gives!

Suggested prayer: Lord Jesus, my world is often filled with anxiety and worry, but You promise a gift of peace. May I accept your gift and live in peace with everyone I meet . . .
