Christmas — The Right Baby!

Day 2621: Today’s post is my last post featuring Christmas carols! May the Lord be present amongst your presents this weekend! Merry Christmas!

Scripture: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11

Thoughts/questions:  The all-time favorite Christmas carol and this year’s current favorite have something in common, references to the concept of ‘baby!’ The current favorite is Mariah Carey’s, ‘All I want for Christmas is You’ and it contains this line – Baby, all I want for Christmas is you, baby. Her use of this word certainly has no correlation to the baby at the first Christmas, that’s for sure.

The all time favorite carol specifically references a new baby, Christ the Savior is born! Our ‘progressive’ society has come a long way hasn’t it. From baby Jesus, to baby, baby. Not good.

But that takes nothing away from the all time favorite! Read it; sing it; and join the multitudes who over the years have sung this song about the most important baby of all, Jesus, the Lord at His birth!

Silent night, Holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin, mother and child Holy infant, tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night Son of God, love’s pure light Radiant beams from thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord at thy birth Jesus, Lord at thy birth.

Silent night, Holy night Shepherds quake, at the sight Glories stream from heaven above Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah. Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born.

Suggested prayer: Lord Jesus, may we all bow before You as we remember Your birth  . .
