Psalms — Psalm 76 – Who will bless Israel?

Day 2680: Be a light in the darkness!

Scripture: God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel. His tabernacle is in Salem; His dwelling place also is in Zion. You are resplendent, more majestic than the mountains of prey.  At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.

You, even You, are to be feared; and who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry? You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still when God arose to judgment, to save all the humble of the earth.   Excerpts from Psalm 76

Thoughts/questions: The Psalmist states, “God’s name is great in Israel,” but in the U.S. for a few years, Israel’s name has not been great. God promises to bless those who bless Israel, and many believe that as a nation, the U.S. MUST be a blessing to Israel! Well, things they are a changing.

Here are portions of the new U.S. representative to the UN, Nikki Haley’s press conference after meeting with the security council: “I am here to underscore the ironclad support of the United States for Israel. I’m here to emphasize the United States is determined to stand up to the UN’s anti-Israel bias. The United States will not hesitate to speak out against these biases in defense of our friend and ally, Israel.”

Our nation needs God’s blessings, that’s for sure. May our support for Israel return His blessings on this country!

Suggested prayer: Lord, may the U.S. humbly return to You and return to supporting Israel . . .
