God’s Faithfulness!

Day 2703: We’re well into March already – wow!

Scripture:  “I don’t know what you are talking about.” “I do not know the man.” Then he began to curse and swear, “I do not know the man!”  Quotes from Peter in Matthew 26:70-74

Thoughts/questions:  Today we’ll finish the series on God’s faithfulness with His faithfulness to Peter! In spite of all of the experiences Peter had with Jesus, he still was unable to take a stand for Him. Warned in advance, Peter still got caught up in his need for the adulation of humanity and replaced his faith with fear. Not twice, but three times! Yet God was faithful though Peter lacked that same quality!

So, what eventually was Peter’s response to God being faithful to him though he denied Jesus – a read of I and II Peter gives insight into the type of person Peter became! These challenging books include “But when I do what is right and suffer for it and patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.” “Do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled!” “For God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” “But we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” “Be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless!”

Without the power of Christ, Peter could do nothing; however, he later would concur with Paul, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” God’s faithfulness to Peter and to all of us results in changed lives when we respond to His faithfulness with dependence on Him! He WILL remain faithful to us no matter what we do; let us always be faithful to Him!!!

Suggested Prayer:  Father God, Your faithfulness cannot be compared to anything on earth! Thank You that You always remain faithful . . .
