God’s Faithfulness Continued!

Day 2703:  May the Lord grant you His peace!

Scripture:   So Elisha answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them!” II Kings 6:16

Thoughts/questions:  God is faithful even when we can’t see Him nor feel His presence! II Kings 6:14-17 tells a short, but VERY powerful account of God revealing His faithful power to a servant of Elisha!

Angered, the king of Syria found where Elisha was living and sent a great army there and surrounded the city. Elisha’s servant had woken early, looked out, and saw the army of horses and chariots everywhere. The servant said to Elisha, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” Things appeared hopeless!

Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.”  The Lord answered Elisha’s prayer and his servant was able to see the faithfulness and power of God! “And he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha!” The account continues with God’s army coming down to Elisha, and he was miraculously saved because of God’s intervention!

And he saw!!! Wow! The servant’s physical eyes were opened so that he could see the spiritual power surrounding him! I John 4:4b says it this way, “Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world!’ Our spiritual eyes see only by faith, BUT God IS there in all of His power – He has not left us alone! We may feel like the servant, but feelings betray the TRUTH! Have faith! Our faithful God is ALWAYS with us!!!

Suggested Prayer:  All powerful God, let my doubts give way to Your truth! You are greater than any obstacle I may encounter . . .
