Psalms — Psalm 96 – More To Do!

Day 2707: Excited that our grandson’s 100% obstructing tonsils have successfully and finally been removed! We pray this will definitely change his life!

Scripture:   Sing to the Lord a new song, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. Tell of His glory among the nations.

For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; splendor and majesty are before Him, strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength; bring an offering and come into His courts. Worship the Lord in holy attire; tremble before Him, all the earth.

Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns; indeed, He will judge the peoples with equity. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all it contains; let the field exult, and all that is in it.

Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the Lord, for He is coming.”  Excerpts from Psalm 96

Thoughts/questions: I sure hope the references to nature are literal. What an amazing experience to hear trees sing for joy and to be there when the heavens show their gladness and the whole earth rejoices. Wow! What a day that would/will be!

Need something to do? Today’s Psalm, like yesterday’s, should keep you plenty busy. Sing, bless, proclaim, tell, ascribe, bring, worship, tremble, and say – our personal relationship with God is not to be kept quiet! No hidden followers of Jesus according to this Psalm!

Check the list again and let God lead you in determining which area you need to step up your game regarding! For me, I need to tremble more – I know I will when I see Him and shouldn’t need that experience to realize who He is and who I’m not!

Suggested Prayer: God Almighty, may I never be afraid to speak when I need to speak and be quiet when I need to be quiet . . .
