Psalms — Psalm 97 – Happy Islands!

Day 2708: Another Monday to make a difference! Make Mondays Matter!

Scripture:  The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many islands be glad. His lightnings lit up the world; the earth saw and trembled. The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord; at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples have seen His glory.

Let all those be ashamed who serve graven images, who boast themselves of idols; worship Him, all you gods. For You are the Lord Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. Hate evil, you who love the Lord, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked. Light is sown like seed for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. Be glad in the Lord, you righteous ones, and give thanks to His holy name.  Excerpts from Psalm 97

Thoughts/questions: There are about 800 fairly good sized islands in the world with estimates as high as 500,000 small ones – That will be quite a glad group!

All of us have seen His glory in nature, yet many serve their self created idols. For God to have gone to such an extent to make His creation so awesome, (i.e. 3 x 10 the the 23rd power planets and growing) and for so many to worship the creature not the Creator must be frustrating to observe from above!

But for us who acknowledge and worship Creator God, we certainly can be glad in the Lord, and give thanks to His holy name!

Suggested Prayer: Father God, thank You for sunsets, sunrises, clouds, mountains, snow, oceans, animals, stars and on and on. You are a great Creator . . .
