Psalms — Psalm 99 – Holy is the Lord!

Day 2710: Remember the number one thing – Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind!

Scripture: The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake! The Lord is great in Zion, and He is exalted above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He.

The strength of the King loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool; holy is He. Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called on His name; they called upon the Lord and He answered them.

He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; they kept His testimonies and the statute that He gave them. Lord our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, and yet an avenger of their evil deeds. Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His holy hill, for holy is the Lord our God.  Psalm 99

Thoughts/questions: Holy – not a word we use much as part of our normal conversation. In a spiritual context we may say it or sing it, but what does it mean that holy is the Lord our God?

A dictionary definition helps: ‘exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness.’ That sounds about right, eh! Our Lord God is just that. He is worthy of our complete devotion, but the question is this, ‘Have we given Him what He is worthy of?’

Complete devotion – are we totally devoted to Him? Maybe it’s time to up our game!

Suggested Prayer: Father God, holy, holy, holy are You . . .
