Psalms — Psalm 100 – He Made Me!

Day 2711: May God’s love fill you today!

Scripture:  Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.   Psalm 100

Thoughts/questions: One of the truly special Psalms! The first five sentences are imperative or command sentences with four starting with an action verb – shout, serve, know, enter, give! We are to ‘know’ so we aren’t to be dumb sheep, and we are to be active (shouting, serving, entering, and giving) and not be a passive sheep just grazing and drinking!

And the last sentence answers why we are doing the above – For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations. All generations! God is a generational God. It is He who has made us and if He made us, He made our parents, grandparents, children, grandkids and on and on.

Add to the above that our God is purposeful and intentional, and the conclusion is that our number one ministry is to our immediate family. God intentionally placed you within His designed family unit to serve in a special place within your family! You’re a perfect fit! Yes, families are unique and have special challenges, but God has prepared you and will use you within your family no matter how difficult! Depend on Him and keep the faith!

Suggested Prayer: Father God, help me be the person You’ve designed me to be within my family . . .
